I completely understand why UA cut ties with those guys after the video came out. The dude acted like a complete jackass after the shot and it rubbed people the wrong way.I think you add in the fact that it was with a spear, which is not legal in all places, it just looks bad. (I understand it was a legal kill in that area at the time).

I think the hunter outrage over UA making a business decision is dumb. They are a company and can drop their sponsorship if they dont like the way someone is representing them. See Ryan Lochte. People burning their UA clothes and hats to make a statement. I don't have much of their hunting stuff but their golf shorts and polos are my favorite. I'll keep on buying it.

So basically a bunch of conservative tampons are crying about the actions of a bunch of liberal tampons? And then proceed to act just like them.

Never really liked their shite anyway. Got a set of the cold gear for Christmas a couple years ago and have only worn it twice. I like Cabela's ECWCS Polartec base layers.

I understand your point but you missed mine and I should have been much clearer. Those same groups of people don't support hunting and are always looking for an excuse to restrict it. I've seen that in a couple cousins from Chicago. None of them hunt and watching outdoor channel with them one day you be surprised at how hostile they were to it all the while saying the liberal brainwashed mantra that hunting is ok. They had a very strict view of what it should be and I can tell you now most of you hunters here wouldn't dare want to hunt the way they want you too.

The outrage is due to more of a bunch of clown sjws objecting to how one should hunt and act causing UA to fold. How much you want to bet those same sjws are going to hammer any outdoor group over activities not conducted to their satisfaction?

I understand and I think we are pretty much on the same page. Hunters should put their best foot forward in the public eye, especially in this PC world dominated by the SJWs. It doesn't do the hunting community any favors when one is jumping up and down celebrating a kill. That goes for any method of take. You add the spear aspect to it and it just comes across wrong.

I guess my main point is that you shouldn't be surprised by the outrage.

Those consumers are also making a business decision by spending their money elsewhere. I can promise you, UA will not recoup that lost revenue from the SJW crowd they just abandoned their consumers for.

Sportsman need to start banding together and voting with the check books more often. If they want to make money of us as a group they should also be supporting sportsman.

Never did like UA for some reason. Fishing I stick to Columbia products and hunting it's Carhartt pants, Cabela's ECWCS with Outfitters Berber Fleece. Never get cold in La. Trying the Wooltimate this year.

For the money, it's way better than UA and that Drake shite. The only UA stuff I got is some Cold Gear, some gloves, and a beanie hat that is probably getting replaced with Sitka stuff anyway.

you are trying too hard now... i own all the above, and have zero issues with game winner. But it isnt a way better product than UA, not even close.

Also - bear "hunting" over a huge barrel of bait that a guide brought you to takes 0 skill no mater what weapon you use to actually make the kill. I will never understand why people pay thousands to do it.

Feel like I remember a poster here going on one of these trips this year.

Pretty positive I know who it was.

I asked about hunting over bait and never received a response.

Guess you missed the for the money part of my quote. I bought a new Game Winner jacket last year and it has all the features of both the UA and Drake jackets, meaning it has pockets that I can put stuff in (actually Academy had all 3 so I basically side by side compared). I bought the Game Winner because it was $79. The UA and Drake jackets were both over $200. I used the Game Winner all of last year and was actually surprised at how warm and waterproof it was so bottom line, yep, for the money, it is pretty damn close.
