Two Thumbs up For Vortex Customer Service

I own 2 Vortex riflescopes and one pair of Vortex Diamondback 12X50 binoculars. Although I’ve never heard anything but good about their customer service, I’ve never used it, until now. Each lens cap is attached to the barrel of binocular by a small rubber tether. A few weeks ago one of the tethers for one of the lens caps became detached. I sent Vortex an email asking for a quote to buy a replacement cap. I admitted the binoculars were 3-4 years old. Instead of quoting me a price, today I received a box from them that had 2 lens caps, a decal, a lens cloth, a drawstring bag and a cap….all for free! Nowdays it’s rare to find that kind of customer service. Count me a satisfied customer. I’ll be glad to consider a Vortex product whenever I buy optics.

I’ve had the exact same experience. They have a customer for life as far as I’m concerned.

Cool. I am curious to know where the scopes are made, what country. Thx to anyone that can tell me.

A closer look reveals that Vortex scopes are manufactured in the following locations: Razor HD scopes are manufactured in Japan. Vipers are made in Philippines. Diamondbacks are made in Philippines made as well. Crossfire scopes are produced in China.

Thanks. I looked at their website this afternoon to no avail.

Vortex is what Leupold used to be. Good value and good customer service.

Are you saying Leupold CS isn't any good anymore?

I bought a used HD Razor and went with it because of the warranty.
Have since bought a couple more items.

I own a pair of DB binos. However, while it's awesome that their CS is apparently really good, it gives me pause to think at the volume of claims I've seen and read about. Do they have quality issues, or are people just beating the shite out of their stuff knowing they'll get it fixed for free?

I’ve never seen so many post about a companies customer service for defective product as vortex. I don’t want the hassle to have to deal with customer service so I just don’t buy their product.

I'm kind of the same way. I bought the binos because they were a steal through BassPro last year. I'm not brand loyal, but every riflescope I have now is a Leupold. No issues yet.
I rarely see where people have had quality issues with Leupold. Coincidentally, I don't ever hear* about their CS, whether it be positive or negative experiences. TIFWIW.

Yep. They are setting the bar in the CS area.

Just curious, why? Just wanting to try something different?

Yes and I need lasik eye surgery.
Have you done that before? Tree branches looking like deer

Good luck with it. I'm fortunate enough to have 20/20 but I'm partially colorblind, so bloodtracking can be a challenge. Despite good vision, I think everyone has mistaken a branch or two for a big one

Appreciate it

I have several Vortex products and no issues with any of them. But good to know if I ever do, I'll be taken care of.

I borrowed a buddy’s binos and misplaces a lens cap. Called and they sent two and a hat for free.

My old man sent back a 20 year old VX-2 a while back. The glass on it was pretty much shot, you couldnt see shite at dawn and dusk. Showed back up in a few months like brand new.
