I’m ready. Opens Thursday for us. I’m planning to take off Friday if the weather is good.

I'm obsessed too, I think it'll hurt less when I finally shoot one.

I woke up thinking it opened Wednesday, I was very disappointed when I realized it was Thursday.

I've already told the boss I'm coming in late Thursday morning. I went to one of the spots I hunt in North MS Saturday morning with a buddy and we heard 5 toms for sure, possibly one or two more but we weren't certain if there were multiple in a few spots or just singles that were really gobbling. We left there so fired up for Thursday

I'm ready to roll, but I can't make it until Friday and the weather will suck this weekend.

Me BIL and dad are going this Saturday/ maybe Sunday morning depending on the weather. I haven't been turkey hunting in over a decade.

I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight I'm so pumped about tomorrow morning. Supposed to be pretty good weather in North MS for tomorrow, and it's starting to look a lot better for the weekend

Gtfo gif. What's not to like? Tennessee is one of the mecca's though honestly, many areas of Tennessee hold a ton of birds. So is it too easy?

I honestly don't understand what one couldn't like about turkey hunting if you are an outdoorsman? Walking around the woods, beautiful time of the year, calling and working an animal, and they taste great.

So we have a few, 3-4 turkeys out there. How do we increase our numbers over the next 10-15 yrs?

predator control definitely helps. trap for raccoons and opossums that raid turkey nests.

Habitat improvement will keep them around as well.

What kind of landscape? Pines? Hardwoods?

Do you lease or own the property?

Pretty sure it's April for me too. I have never shot a turkey before. I am pumped up to try though.
