I am looking into buy a new trolling motor for my boat. I have a 19 Ft Ranger bass boat and my motor guide is about shot!
I want to stay with 24 volts and want the max thrust available. I was looking at the Minn Kota maxxums. Does anyone have this motor and do you like it. Or is anything else I should be looking at.
Also I would like to stay under 1K if possible.

Have a minn Kota fortrex on a 20 ft bass rig and it's been solid no real complaints ...had motor guides forever this is my first MK.

I have a 70 lb hand control maxxum on my 16 ft xpress. no issues after 3 yrs.
also had the same model with 55lb on my old boat. I gave that boat to my son and the MK is still working well.

Maxxums are great motors. I like the digital maximized and slow start feature. I troll a lot for white perch and the digital maximizer works like cruise control. I also like it still ha a cable steer. I'm not a big fan of all these electronic turning mechanisms, cable allows me to move maneuver better.

I have a maxxum 70lb on my boat. My boat is an 18'-8" aluminum boat, but it pulls it around just fine. The only thing I wish was different was more speeds. My motor has 5 speeds and I wish they had a bigger difference between 3, 4, and 5.

Thanks for the input. So it seems the Minn kotas are preferred over the motor guides.

Minn Kota Maxxum is a great choice. Do not get the Motorguide unless you like having a trolling motor in the shop while your buddies are fishing. Thank me later.

eta: Get a true variable speed versus multispeed. Sometimes I like to put my motor on one slow steady speed rather than cycling it on and off and with a multispeed I generally find one speed too fast and the other speed too slow.
