Good deal! It's good to hear of kids getting interested in trapping. It had died down a lot in the late 80s and 90s but has picked up in the last 10 yrs.
I used to wake up before daylight and go check my traps before getting on the school bus to go to school. A $25 coon was a lot of money to a 10 year old kid.

Yeah man I wish alot more kids would get into it. To me it helps them become a better outdoorsman cause they really have to study the habits of different target animals to be successful. It just doesn't seem like the interest is there to most kids. Mine is 10 and would pee all over himself if he got $25 for a coon

This one is from Monday, most of the time I run my lines in the morning before work so don't get a very good chance to take pics unless its by the headlights

Little man got his first gray this morning. He was so excited.

Cool deal, gentlemen. Nice to see the lil man in on it.
Me and a buddy used to trap coons when I was in high skool. On the edge of cypress lake... not sure what you call it, but we'd put the trap in the water and nail the bait a foot or two above it on the tree...
always got the adrenaline flowing when you could see that cypress tree scratched to hell as you walked up to it.
$20 for a hide, and sold the meat to the "fish market" for gas money... good times.

Yes you do and it will improve your deer hunting as well. I can now go on a new piece of property and pick out the crossings just by riding around. Find the varmit crossings and you'll find the buck crossings.

Has anybody sold any fur yet? Coyotes are only 4 to 7 dollars here. Almost not enough to drag out of the woods but I guess it adds up after a while.
