What brands are reputable and which products stand up to usage?

Would like to drive highway speeds with cover on.

I'm with you on that. I want to because one place I frequent has a 4.5 miles white dirt (dusty af) road. Covers every single inch of my boat; I have to wash it from top to bottom everytime I go there. Its about 55 miles of interstate, and Id rather not drive up to the gravel road, get out, put the cover on the boat, the drive down the dirt road to the launch, stop, uncover it, launch, fish, trailer, cover, dirt road, pull over, uncover, drive home. That seems like a pain in the arse.

All that being said, I did recently buy a cheap cover to do just that. But I'll prolly end up going on the interstate with it anyway, but I think the corners will tear before too long.

Here is the one I bought:

to trailer it on an insterstate its gonna need to be custom to your boat or specific to your brand/model. They can run from 600-1k bucks.

I also trailer down 3-4 miles of gravel road all winter. It gets covered in dust. When we step in with the morning dew its a sloppy mess + the trailer haul back to asphalt. Its nothing a regular wash cant take care of but sucks because i like to keep my shite clean

How nice is the boat? A custom made one are incredible over the universal ones, but they are going to easily be $500 plus. I was quoted $1400 for my boat, but my manufacture has one already it just needed modified

Same here. I wont put it in the garage without cleaning off the water line, washing all dust off hull, motor, and trailer. That icover i got, i believe would stay on the boat well bc theres so many straps. But the material seems like itll wear on the corners quickly. That issue could be fixed with iron on patches prolly. It was only $80 so itll have to do for now.

Not if you plan to trailer it. Loose material will flap and wear out quick.

Trailerable covers are custom fit to the boat and fit very tight. The better ones fit without straps to the trailer.

I had a local awning place make me one for my boat about 15 years ago. It was built VERY well, so well it was on my boat during Katrina and NEVER came off during all the wind and rain it was amazing. I would consider looking at something like that IF you have someone in your part of Texas that can do it BP.

I will add sold it to a member on here about a year ago and it's still going strong to this day....

Mine has no under straps, just two ratchets on the back to tighten the band on each side, but even that can't be too tight since the band has plastic buckles along it. It stays on with the front lip over the bow and uses the pressure from air to hold it in place. All those straps some of the universal ones have, suck.

That's how mine is as well.

check out the covers at Academy- their best ones are about $200. they have covers for different models and sizes of boats. I have had one for 3 years and it fits well with straps to be able to travel on the highway
good luck
