just like e-bikes should be banned on public.

E-bikes are only allowed on ATV trails on WMA's in LA. You can't legally take an e-bike anywhere on a WMA that doesn't also allow ATV's. So are you also in favor of banning ATV's too?

You still have to put in time and effort to find spots that have signs of deer activity. If you just setup cameras in random spots without doing any scouting, then your odds of getting deer on that camera won't be very good.

Which do you think would be more difficult to kill a deer:

- Having cameras at your disposal on public land that gets heavy hunting pressure

- No cameras, hunting a box stand overlooking a food plot on a property that nobody else has permission to hunt except you

I just got an ebike but I'd be all for ATV and ebike use being banned except for seniors or medical waivers

We are now giving handicaps for hunting like golf? Because I have 27 children and can only make time for one sit for hour per year. Can I use a rifle during the first day of archery season?

Everyone has the same rules. What you do within those boundaries is up to you.

This may be true, but I had my spot busted TWICE this year on Tensas by e-bike riders cruising well past where they were supposed to stop. They know green jeans isn’t in the woods and abuse the trail rules.

I almost got smashed by a fatass on a four-wheeler about 2 miles from any trail in colorado on public land.

Its total anarchy with loud arse gas machines. Bikes are even worse.

I'm ready for the rules to change majorly. On road vehicles on on-road trails and horses. Nothing else. No bikes. No drones. No nothing. Walk your fat arse, ride a horse, or don't go.

I was putting my climber on a tree one morning deep in the cut on Tensas before sunrise one day this year, all of a sudden I see red lights eerily snaking their way through the woods on an old timber trail. Hell I thought it was drones at first they were moving so fast. Took me a second to realize it was two separate bikes. They didn’t know I was there because I had my headlight turned off since the moon was bright.

Later that day I saw the guys in the parking lot and acknowledged that I had seen them back there. Didn’t threaten them or anything as that isn’t my place, but I did want to let them know that they weren’t as stealthy as they thought they were.

I've had the same thing happen there with ATVs. I was about 800 yards away from the four wheeler trail and some dude came weaving through on his.

By your idiotic logic, putting wiretaps on coaches for an opposing football team so you can hear what the head coach and coordinators are saying in their preparation for your team isn't cheating because the players still have to play the game.

I was more replying to other comments I saw than yours. My bad

although

Cameras pattern deer so you have better odds at seeing a deer to shoot at.

Also, if cameras aren't giving you an advantage, why are you putting it there?

I agree. Cameras and baiting both make killing deer easier.

That sucks. The noise alone would piss me off. It’s supposed to be something of a sanctuary once you get back there.

A golf handicap is a number that represents a golfer's skill level. It's based on their previous scores relative to the difficulty of the course and playing conditions. Handicaps are used to level the playing field so that golfers of different abilities can compete fairly.

To be fair, I didn't really understand your comment that retired people who spend more time in the woods is similar advantage to someone who uses cameras.

Yes, someone who can spend everyday hunting has an advantage over someone who can't.

If you cant spend as much time in the woods as someone else then that's your life choices and your problem. No need to allow hunting aids because one group of people has a different situation.. Now the retired a-hole has the time AND the cameras. a 2x advantage

The mental gymnastics of some people claiming cameras don't make putting a deer on the ground easier is a bit comical. They absolutely do.

They definitely help. But its a fraction of the amount of advantages that people fortunate enough to have access to hunt private land have available to them.

Feeders with automatic timers. Cameras. Longer gun seasons. Stands in place that you can climb right into quietly in the morning. Deer that aren't nearly as pressured and more likely to move around during daylight. Nobody is claiming those advantages are cheating.

But trail cams on public land is a bridge too far for some reason.

Sure. You called it cheating though.

My saddle gives me an advantage. So does my modern compound bow. So does my understanding of wind.

Are those cheating?

Now we devolved into semantics?

On every public land I've hunted, there are too many hunters and not enough game. I don't see a reason to make it easier on anyone to fill a tag.

Pointing out the flaw in your argument is not semantics.

Maybe the State should manage the properties better then. Why are they not shortening rifle seasons? Lottery system? Reducing limits?

They are not banning cameras because hunters are killing too many deer due to cameras.
