Nice! I've seen a ton of those birds, but I've never seen it captured in that position in a photo! Gorgeous!

They say those birds can live a hundred years, or more.

The pond in my neighborhood (pond has been there since at least the 1960s according to old topo maps, neighborhood been there since the 90s) there is a heron that has lived here since at least the 90's according to original residents on the lake, and probably longer.

Yea it had over a dozen it took of him. This was by far the best of them.

I wish this was true. I love these birds. Usual lifespan is about 15 years with the oldest recorded span of 24 years.

FYI oldest living crow in the wild was 30 years. Oldest known in captivity is 59 years. Always thought 25 years for a crow was amazing.
