So I started some seeds for fall tomato plants a few weeks ago. All seem to be doing well, except a couple of them have curled leaves and the bottoms of the leaves are very purple. Any ideas? The varieties are Celebrity and Better Boy.

Pretty common on tomato seedlings. The consensus is that it's pretty harmless. They should improve as they mature. I've experienced this many times and they grew out of it. Just monitor them to make sure they aren't getting worse or displaying new (different) symptoms.

Good deal, thanks. This is my first time (as you know) growing tomato seedlings. All the others seem to be doing great. Got some fall peppers as well .

Pretty normal stuff. Just be sure to water from below to decrease the event of damping off. I like to water started plants by using a tray under them and fill it with water so the plants take the water in from below.

I agree with others they typically have that color to them. I cant say I know why but it gets green soon enough.

Not to derail, but is this the time to go ahead and start fall tomatos? Anything different than spring tomatos?

Whatever you like to plant in the spring is good to go in the fall. If you start the seeds now, by the time mid September comes along they will be plenty big enough to go in the ground. Figure a week+ for the seeds to sprout, a few weeks growth in their initial pots, one time up-pot to a bigger one, and then in the ground.
Just be sure to harden them off before going into direct sunlight by exposing the potted plants to the conditions they will be growing in as the time nears to put them in the garden.
