I have a chance to get a camp at Shadows Landing in the Negreet Creek area of Toledo Bend. I have always fished more north and have never been down to this area. I know, I know, good fishing is everywhere, but can anyone give me some more specific info on what to expect, reports, etc.?
TIA
TIA

My Grandfather had a camp in Negreet Creek (R&L Park) for almost 40 years. You can get to Turtle Beach and even the Pendleton Bridge area easily from there. I hope to buy there myself one day. Oh man I miss my Paw Paw.

Clyde Tipton is the unofficial Mayor of Negreet Creek.

Damn it.
I've already typed out and erased 4 different responses ranging from, 'Never heard of it", to "good centralized fishing location" to "stay the hell out of my duck blind".

damnit, clyde tipton... maybe the 5th draft of your response will provide me some insight. you should know, I am likely quite harmless as far as hurting the fish population, and don't duck hunt... may be exactly the kind of neighbors you would be looking for down there...

easy run to a lot of places from there.

My grandparents owned some acreage there before the lake was built and ended up with a big chunk of lake front property just North of Shadows after it was filled. It got busted up and sold off over the years. Our last relative still holding property up there sold his camp a few years ago.
There are a few of us guys (cousins) who still fish there often and have had a duck blind back there since, well, since my grandpa built the first one back in the late 60's a year or two after the lake was built. It's really become a competition in recent years with yahoo's hunting our spot, hunting on top of us, stealing decoys, etc.

i understand that and have heard stories about that happening a lot of places. like i said, i don't duck hunt, so you won't see me there if i get this camp... i spend my winters in north Louisiana hunting the elusive four legged deer.
(any general fishing info on that area would be appreciated... easily accessible to good fishing areas? type of water? is there "good" grass in that area? any typical schooling activity during summer/fall? etc.) i grew up fishing out of Zwolle and more north and liked fishing shallow ridges in spring, grass beds in summer and fall, etc. NOT looking for any "secret" spot info or anything like that... just anything on what i could expect...
i know, i know, seems like asking a lot, so if you or anyone would rather not get into it, i will not be offended by a

Tennessee Bay (Basically everything off the main lake) is great because it has it all. Humps, creeks, points, grass, etc.
Turtle bay is good, Negreet Creek in the back seems to stay muddy a lot, but when it clears up the back can catch fire.
Other short rides would be Quiets Cove, Big Bass, across to to the Texas side(It's actually close since the main lake pinches down right there) or you could trailer up to Lanan or San Miguel.
