Any reports of grass?
My buddy has been the last 2 weekends and caught decent.
Anther friend has been catching south.
Anyone else doing anything?
Heard Rayburn was producing good fish the last few weeks.

I'll be there the end of March fishing Rayburn. Haven't had a chance since after hunting season to get up there. I've heard they're finding hay grass on the south end of the lake. Said grass is pretty hard to find right now.

What kind of job do I have to have in order to:
1. afford a 10 day trip to Toledo
2. Have enough time to take a 10 day trip to Toledo
I am willing to change

Only reports of grass I've heard were from Housen. I saw none Saturday and went in the back of Lanan, Carrice and Patroon.

How did you do at Patroon? One of my favorite places to fish. That place was overgrown with grass last year.

I work for myself. I'm not filthy rich by any means. I like to fish and spend most of my extra money on my boat, fishing gear, etc...

We were crappie fishing. Caught all of one in there.

There is some spotty grass main lake north of the state park. Spotty.

If you get wayyy back in the pockets you can find some really shallow grass up north. And by really shallow I mean a foot of water or less. It has held bass, though, we caught quite a few out of it the last couple of weeks. All were males.
As far as hydrilla, milfoil, and hay grass, Housen and Six Mile is about it. Haven't seen it anywhere else.

I'll be texting you while I'm there. Let you know what we are doing.
I know we will hit Housen and the bridge.
Maybe try 1215, Six Mile, Sapavado's and Bison.
May he even run a day to Rayburn.
My other friend was catching deep on spoons down south.

I was thinking on my last trip that it was weird I hadn't heard from you yet this year. I guess it seems later than the second week of February with all this warm weather, though. Good luck, my dad and I will be there this weekend. I'll let you know how we do.

Hadn't been to Toledo since the summer.
Been fishing Big Lake. That isn't over yet.

If you start or end with a 3 day weekend (not uncommon for people working 4-10's, or just book starting/ending with a holiday) you are only taking off one week of work. Looking at the first couple of results off google, you can get a cabin for $100-$150 a night, so times ten you get $1500 for rental. Split that between 3 or four dudes and you're looking at a total cost of 1K +/- per person. Even if you only split with one other person you can still pull it off for prob $1500 a person all in. Doesn't seem that tough to do for a vacation you only take once/yr.

It's my 50th this March. I really want a week on that place for once.

You have the entire months of June and July, and half of August, off of work.

No trout fishing sucked when the rain moved in.
Just as a soon head to the jetties and catch big drum for fun.
When the weirs open maybe catch some shrimp.
All I think about right now is Toledo. Never been to a place that mesmerizes me like Toledo. It's like a different world.

I do flooring. I work for specific apartments. I've been working for them for 10 years and bring them fish, so they are ok with me taking a week off 3 or 4 times a year.
The motel we stay at is $60 a night. Usually split it 2 ways. This year I'll have my own room since there is 3 of us.
Last year I fished Toledo from January to July and fished 34 days in that time.
The year before i fished almost 50 days.
Can't imagine spending any vacation and not be on the lake.
As long as work is good, I'll be on the lake.
We night fish half the time.
