It's actually a 5 psi difference. I thought recommended was 34, but it's 35 psi and they're now at 40.

I went the other way; from the 34 down to 26.

Basically, my question is will it ruin or make my tires wear out faster with the extra 5 psi. I'm liking this gas mileage.

Yes just like it would if they were too low but a pound or 2 either way won't make a diff.

I would first check if you may have run over a nail or something like that.

Get a tire gauge to check your tire psi then fill it up to the recommend psi
That's the first thing I did. That's how I discovered the 26 psi in my front tire.

My 2015 F150 recommended is 50 psi.... Look on inside of driver door not on tire.
I did this also. It recommends 35 psi.

Why would your '15 model recommend 50 psi and my '14 recommend 35 psi? 50 psi sounds really high, are you sure about that? My max pressure on my tires is 44 psi.

Different F150s came with different tires. Some came with the P tires (lower psi), and some came with LT tires (higher psi)

Maybe just low tire pressure from the weather. When did you last get your tires rotated?

The answer is that when the seasons change and the roads cool off due to cooler night temps, the pressure in your tires goes down slightly. You have to add about 5 pounds each fall. My light went on over the weekend and I added some air. Happens every year.

Yeah, spare. I know mine is a different tire, but have not looked at pressure. Hell, I am not even sure where it is

P rating = passenger tires = less psi
LT rating = truck tires = more osi

Look at your normal tires vs your spare. It's Ford's way to get better mpg and better ride at your expense and safety

Had to use my spare last year. Leaving my house one morning to drive to New Iberia for a safety class and my low tire pressure light was on. I checked my tires and my right rear was low. Didn't really check to see what it was because I didn't want to be late, but filled it to 35 psi. Get to New Iberia and go back to check it, and this is what I see.

So after class, I stupidity decided to drive back to Lafayette because the tire was holding pressure and I was gonna have it fixed at the tire place near my house. About 5 miles up the road on Hwy 90, my tire pressure light comes on. I look in my rear view mirror and the SOB is flat. That damn lag bolt had flown out and I was fricked. I immediately pulled over into the grass/shoulder. Thank God I was in front of the Schlumberger building and that industrial complex and was able to drive across the median between the northbound lanes and the service road and replace the tire on the road into the complex. I was not changing it on Hwy 90 with semis whizzing by at 70 mph.

I had to change a blowout on I-12 a few weeks ago. Truck was about 2 degrees from sliding off the jack, and a guy in an F150s came about 2ft from hitting me while I was laying on the ground. I had to roll under the truck. It's pretty unnerving when you hear someone going over the drunk bumps coming right at you.

I have no idea how people can drive their entire life without going over the drunk bumps, but at the one instant when a 25ft long truck is pulled on the side, they end up doing it (usually killing people)

I've seen a record number of trucks hitting those rumble strips lately. Luckily none of them were pointed towards me but regardless I hear the strips get hit a lot.

I'll never do it on the side of a highway. I made up my mind years ago.

Several years ago on the local news, there was a story about a guy in his forties, husband and father of four I think, who was killed on the basin bridge Christmas Eve while trying to change a flat on the basin bridge.

I'll ruin a rim before I let that happen to me.

I was pretty uncomfortable doing it, but I was also about 10 miles from the next exit on a Sunday afternoon. It sucked, but I haven't died yet, so I figured I was safe
