Tip for inshore guide?

Rate is $900 for 4 people. I’m assuming this includes fish cleaning.

I run a few different inshore trips and a near shore. My closest trip to that is a nearshore 5 hour trip. Fee for 4 is $750. That certainly includes fish cleaning. As well as fishing license for everyone and all the bait, tackle, ice and even waters on my boat. I would say the average tip for me at that rate is $150-$200. I have had some amazing trips that left no tip and I have had some, what I would rate, a sub par trip that left me $300.
If the guy works hard for you, 15-20 percent should be a great tip. I know people think its a lot but there is a lot of expenses in doing trips.

Could not have said it better
On avg it costs $100 to leave the dock, 20% is a solid tip.
One of our guys caught 20 flounder, 20 reds & 45 trout one day, party tipped $20.

Here is my tip. You can go to Ms. and save a lot of money and fish the same waters if you want to. The local fishing guides charge too much money.

Yes you can and go home empty handed 90% of the time. You can have all of my 500+ marks and not catch a fish. You’re paying for knowledge of when and where to fish.
Tflex and another buddy have been given multiple spots where I catch fish.
It’s helping but nothing like if I were in the boat with them.

For that high fee, I would personally tip $100 if the service is good (not if you catch fish or not).
