It is when they are handing me 5k more for the dam 3yr old truck than i paid for it 3 yrs ago. When you are getting 25k cash, its pretty relevant

You’ll never run into more experts than you will when mentioning buying a vehicle

Here’s some advice. If you like the truck and the deal, then go for it. It’s your money

Average dealer profit across all new vehicles is 12% after you discount some and screw others. Not including any back end product sales. Given their strategy on his trade... They will make at least that. Average dealer profit on used vehicles is 50% higher. So a 12% average becomes 18% not including F&I profitability. I can also add in industry average finance, warranty, gap, t&w, theft, dent, penetration percentages if you would like... Twat.

I’ve been an F&I manager for 15 years, twat.

The numbers differ greatly depending on market.

You’re not telling me anything. Now, tell me why a business turning a profit is “fricking someone”

Your payoff is NOT relevant AT all.

Hope this helps buddy. When the dealers ask this question, the answer should always be "none of your fricking business".

LOL

It’s kind of important in the closing of any deal

“None of your fricking business” would get you a real quick bye from me

No one asked me that. I text my buddy at dealership, gave him my vin. And asked what they will give me for truck yest. He text me back the number. And i went in today and sold it to them. I was simply stating my payoff because of the profit i am making off of it. Getting 5k more than i paid for the truck 3 yrs ago

but you're also buying an inflated priced vehicle. you aren't getting a deal on the new truck for sure like other typical years have been.

you should have felt great about your equity in your truck and kept driving it. you burned through said equity driving new truck off lot.

cool. if you ask that question within the first 5 minutes of negotiations, i'll give you a bye too. The payoff is irrelevant. Dealerships want this intel usually before putting out their offer of trade in. Its a scam. You scumbags can go frick off. Don't hop on a high horse now.

1- you dont know what i am paying for new truck, i hadnt even mentioned that. But im getting a good deal with my buddies discounts
2- anytime you get a new truck, you understand you are getting something that is overpriced and depreciates with value
3-if i was worried about equity, i wouldnt be getting a new truck. I literally buy a new truck every 2-3 years. I like having new vehicles.

Man Chad, I just can’t imagine why you would have had any bad experiences dealing with salesman. You seem so pleasant. A real head scratcher

i can explain it pretty simply. salesmen are used to dealing with fricking idiots and get away with it most of the time. its not that i feel like i'm always trying to get ripped off but the tactics and the path it takes to negotiate a deal is pretty insulting most of the time. My last purchase was very pleasant. All email. Drove to Houston, in and out dealership in 2 hours and drove home.

Meh.

You left out one variable from the equation.

I know what you paid for it new. I know what you owe. I know the progress you made on principle in three years.

You told us your new payment amount in relation to your old as well as what you're financing.

So 45k financed. Plus 25k equity.

70k OTD....

Ooooof

Cool. Glad to hear it. I bet not telling them to frick off helped smooth the process a little bit lol
