Decided Mr. Thief needed a more difficult time gaining target acquisition. Threw this together as a little project. I'm thinking about 12ft up will do.

Just slap together a small wood enclosure with a hole in the front. Half arse camo it. They won't be able to resist looking inside for a game cam. Just line up your hidden cam on that.

Only issue I see with that is that the thief is going to know something is "up" when he finds out what's inside. Then if he has any sense he will start looking around with an eagle eye.
Just buy a cheap working one or a "for parts only" off eBay. Probably going to be 20ish with shipping.

I drilled out a 6" fence post with a 4.5" hole saw, used a chisel to remove the center and then drilled a 1.5" hole in side of post for the lens.
A few vines and limbs around the post and it is invisible.

Rig it to pepper spray or skunk spray in there face when the open the box. Aim your good camera to record it. Post link here.

There is a dusk to dawn light over the gate. It is an old camera and takes a half decent picture. I did not want to leave a good (expensive) camera out there for some nitwit to steal.

My only concern with your camo job is when the leaves die and it's summer. A large pile of dead leaves on a green tree could draw attention to your camera if your meth head isn't totally FUBAR'd.
I think a few of the other ideas may work better when the leaves are green in spring/summer.

I don’t remember who on here, but someone was posting game cam pics they setup at a rent house that someone was jacking power and other nonsense. Cops showed up on the last run of pics. I my butt off
