Thanks SP. I think this route is better for me because i will use em for more than hunting. Probably will do mostly coyote and hog hunting. Really want to try to find where the deer on my place are bedding too. They are elusive.
I may not need them but i want to do something for myself and want to go big.

Are you sitting in a deer stand popping 5 pigs a year at 100yds?
I’m this guy. I want to be able to safely tell a pig from a deer at 100 yards and not pay for any other features besides reliability, what should I get?

The image and id range is unreal in all mergers XP and above. They are bulky but manageable in a spot and stalk role.
Don’t sleep on the telos. It’s basically half a merger binocular for half the price.

Cheapest route - talion XQ (384 17 micron) or XG (640 12 micron). You will be able to ID well beyond 100yds. I’ve used the XG and it was solid for a budget scope. No LRF but you don’t need it.
- The 12 micron means it will retain image resolution better when zooming vs the 17 micron.
- the XQ has a 25mK sensor so it will give more details since it can detect smaller temp changes than the XG 40mk
- XG you’re starting at 640 res @ 2.0x. When you zoom to 4x you are at 320 res.
- XQ is 384 res @ 2.5x. When you zoom to 5x you will be at 192 res.
Second option is the thermion XQ50 pro and the XQ35 pro. Both are 384 res 17 micron and 25mK sensor. The 50 is 3x base mag and the 35 is 2.5x
- bigger tube style scopes but will have a better image and viewing screen.

I thought you were talking about base layers. Redhead elite was gonna be my suggestion.

What are your thoughts on Pulsar’s Thermal Attachments? (Krypton XG50 or XQ35?)
Posted on 1/14/25 at 8:58 pm to Kato
I don't like clip ons. Mainly because for the same price (or cheaper), you can just get a thermal scope. With the price difference, you can build or buy a gun if the reason for wanting a clip on is that you only have one gun
I don't care what they say, I would want to verify zero every time I put it on. Who has the time for that?

SeaPickle or anyone
Any idea what a Thermion XP38 would be worth? Acquired in October of 2020 and barely used. Has a good quick disconnect setup and an extra battery.

So, Thermal > Night Vision?

Ok, I just bought the XP60 LRF
I was leaning hard on the rh50r and Nocpix h50r.
I piddled with the rix leap l3 the past month,
What I wanted was
Integrated lrf: range finder was a must (ruled out the bolt60)
New display: Iray had it, now pulsar is in the 2560.
Toughness: pulsar has a history of tanks
5 year warranty: this was why I was leaning iray
ADM mount. Now the 60s are shipping with an ADM QD mount. Which is honestly what pushed me.
It comes in next week.
Hopefully I’ll get some screen grabs,

I’ve been running the XL60 two weeks now. You won’t be disappointed.

What did I do?
I usually stay out of these threads because they always turn into a pissing match on whose thermal is better.

Yeah this board has definitely cost me way more than others on TD, and it's not even close.

You point out options for us that are looking. We all have a list of wants and needs that varies between us. I started leaning heavier on quality and ruggedness.
Thank you for your opinion on the subject. I have learned a lot and really looked hard at others, but pulsar had been in the back of my mind.
Like I mentioned, that ADM recon mount is highly spoken of and comes with the scope at the same price as the 50s were (impressive).
I don’t think anyone here owns the XP60, so I’ll do my best to get some screenshots up.

I gotcha. Ive done this shite multiple nights a week for a long time now I've used almost every scope out there.
I've posted my stuff before so here's my IG. Pig killing IG
I have 4 videos with the XL60 posted. Conditions have been tough lately with rain and wind but its doing well.
I'm pulling up the the crop fields now. Hopefully stack the pigs tonight.

The XP60 came in and I finally got some time to mount it and learn how to use it. Pulsar did a phenomenal job. The range finder is exactly what I wanted and I’d say it will reliably allow me to take out totes and hogs to 300 yards if I needed to. There is a ballistic calculator onboard that haven’t messed with yet.
I set up an easy, bs way, to zero the scope at 50 yards with cheap step-in posts and cardboard with some aluminum foil taped to it.
After zeroing it out, a burro was out so I ranged him with different colors and while on black hot, cycled the sensitivity amplification levels. It was a clear night and I’ll have to do it again in harsher conditions
I swung around and grab different colors palettes of the cows behind me.
The scope has a ton of features that I haven’t explored yet. I didn’t connect with Bluetooth but did connect with its own WiFi for video streaming on my phone, which is impressive.
The ADM QD Recon mount it came with is stout. The locking mechanism is impressive. That Pulsar kept the price the same but included these for the US market is a nice touch.
The XG base mag is higher than this XP, so it’s down range clarity is slightly better. I wanted to stay at 3x. The 50mm versions had the XG at 3x, but the 60mm allowed Pulsar to increase the XP to 3x.
The XP model is impressive.

Great write up on all that! The OB appreciates your work. Very impressive.
Of course I read that all twice and I have absolutely no idea what any of it means. But it's still impressive.
