I know--I'm obsessed with the winds, but why waste your time?

I completely understand, in the summer when I get in to work on Monday morning, wind for the upcoming weekend is usually the first thing I check.

Dawg... Where u fishing in gi? Going there for the whole weekend. I'm always fishing out of Venice and not familiar with grand isle. Any pointers besides the beaches around the pass? Hear anything about independence reef yet this year?

@bleed.... Were ya'll crabbing from the beach? I fished on the beach Sat a.m., but didn't really look to see if anyone was crabbing. Been thinking about buying a few traps. Never crabbed before.

yea on the beach. First day we used chicken then once we got spec heads we ran the traps and replaced them. Think we got crooked sat afternoon cause the traps only had bout 8 crabs in them after sitting all day

If you launch in Cocodrie, I would suggest you head toward Bay St. Elaine. They have some islands in the bay and you can fish those, there are also some reefs you can fish in the area. You can also fish the birds in the area, it will hold mostly smaller fish but you will catch some keepers and white trout. Watch the weather and the further south you go the bigger the fish will be. Good luck.

The forecast looks like a lot of wind and rough water. Not gonna be too good unless the forecast changes.

Caught almost 200 trout out of Cocodrie on Friday and Saturday... not going this weekend unless the wind forecast changes.
