The Rip out of Grand Isle

Has anyone been out the last few days to the rip out of grand isle? Looking online it looks to be about 60 miles out but wanted to see if anyone has been out there lately. Looks to be moving out further.

I haven’t. This is the first year I didn’t make at least 2 trips in May in 30 years because of the winds. I’m 37 and we’ve had a place down there since I was born.
I think my brothers and I may be done with Grand Isle. Too many damn people now days. We’ve discussed getting rid of our place down there and possibly buying a place in Venice or possibly Cocodrie. We’ll see. Maybe even buy something around Morans in Fourchon. Thatd be excellent not having to go on to the island. It’s ridiculous
This weekend may be a good weekend to hit the rip but I’m not going because it’s Memorial Day weekend.

Flew in from SS207 today and we were right on the edge of it. Saw a few good cobia today.

No but my buddy is sending me limits of specks in 1-2 pounds last three days. Says they are murdering them

Looking for a camp? Check AIRBNB or grand isle rentals ($$$$$$). For a simple room and a bed to crash, check blue dolphin, Bridgeside, new sand dolla, rickys, or morans if don’t mind the drive da fou.
