Isn't there a shell pad or some kind of structure that remains? They can't possibly remove everything. Make sure to keep the GPS coordinates since you can't see it anymore.

Not sure how they are going to handle it, but the companies have been working the area over dragging shrimp nets to make sure they don't leave anything down there. I'm going to see if CCA can turn it into a reef site.

That shrimp nets won't pick up the limestone pads. My dads company installed all of the production equipment out there and does a lot of platform removals. That limestone will remain.

Obama's posse getting rich yanking all our fishing holes out of the Gulf. We will be sinking washing machines and Chevrolet's to have a place to fish like they do in Alabama.

I just gets everything else. If we could get it made to a reefing site and add a bunch of concrete the area wouldn't miss a beat.

Too bad our Governor stole all the millions out of the Rigs to Reefs program. Multiple times.

Very sad. I've caught huge trout there with croakers and also other species like Spanish Mack and redfish. What's the best fish others have caught there?
I've caught a Spanish Mack and triple tail from there. Nothing too special.

Now they know what we have to go through.

We are currently looking for reef sites, making some yak launches, building piers, etc to hand over to Bobby for the use of BP funds. I'm glad BP is retaining the purse strings, going to keep the politicians access to cookie jar at a minimum. Pretty sure the shrimpers are going to bitch, but spots like this would be perfect for nearshore reefs.

Imagine running to the location of a platform during a tourney only to find it gone.
I don't fish tourneys, but it is a kick in the gut any day. The best mangrove rig I've ever fished disappeared 2 years ago.

This is the thing that may save us.
