Fished Ross Barnett Rez today and it was my first time this year. They’ve been fighting sylvania drawing it down and spraying heavily. That has resulted it narrow creeks that used to be choked with pads now being open bays with “new” cover to fish like grass and brush. It was kinda cool. Felt like a different lake. Caught 5 that were all 15-17.5 but fat. Also caught my first pitchin/flippin fish from kayak. That fish hit that bandito bug like a freight train

Trout are chasing the brown shrimp around Calcasieu. Low wind tomorrow would be a great day to go. Lots of quality feesh. Biggest was just under 20”.

If anyone is fishing tomorrow, here is a low entry fee CPR redfish tournament if anyone is interested in some friendly competition.

Since MS public lakes/rivers are closed I fished the lake in the neighborhood I grew up in. It’s an old lake that locals grew up fishing but a neighborhood happened to pop up around it. Mature lake with solid fish. Zoom trick worm was hot bait but caught a few on the googan lunker log. Smoked em tons of action. Fun fishing a low pressure water for a change.

Caught a nice mess of 15 trout at PAC yesterday. Mostly all 12-13” ones but they’ll make a nice meal. Went down Hwy 23 today with no luck though

I had an incredible day of redfishing in Delacroix on Saturday for the tournament. I had my limit by 8:30 AM and continued to catch fish and upgrade all day. Johnson 1/4oz gold spoon and Ginger Avenger inline spinnerbait around the grass were the tickets. Ended up in 3rd place at 130", 1st & 2nd were tied with 130.25". April has always been my favorite month to fish redfish in Delacroix and this weekend reassured that.

Overall I love it, there's a few things I don't like but no deal breakers.
- The horizontal rod storage is not very user friendly. I've just been storing them in vertical rod holders behind me now.
- Built in paddle storage also not efficient. I'm going to rig up something to store my paddle off the side of the boat.
Both those features they pulled over from the Titans. They both work well on the Titans but I find they are harder to use on a boat of this width. I'd say both stability and speed are slightly improved over the SP13. The high seat option is awesome, comfortable and much easier to stand up.
And yes, the drive is flipped up onto the hatch. I was fishing pretty thick grass so I had the drive pulled up and paddling. When I caught a fish i'd flip it up onto the hatch to give me a little more working room, then put it back down after the photo.

I love my sp13 but the mains things I don’t love: tackle storage options & electronic integration is greatly improved on the max. Love that Titan seat it got

Only thing about the new integrated weed guard is I think you have to take the whole part off to clean or check in there. I hand the weed guardian and I can pop it on and off

100 bucks is high too. My plastic one was 12 dollars. I can take it off or put it on while in the boat pretty easily
