To each his own for sure. I'm in no position to tell anyone how to spend their money. Personally, I'd probably keep my 10' yak and get a smaller motorized boat though if I had nearly 4k lying around for the purpose of a vessel
I should clarify that for me a kayak started as a tool of getting to and catching fish for supper. I had one because it's what I could afford and really started kayak fishing around 2003. I do realize it's a sport with basically a cult following at this point, but for me coming up it was a means to catch supper and have a good time doing it. A boat would've been a better tool though

Now I do agree on the Hobie 360. That's way too much money. No way I'd pay that.

This was one of the reasons I started. I wanted to have a way to fish whenever I wanted to and not have to wait for family members or friends to want to take their boats. Circumstances have changed so I have a little more access to boats now and don't like limiting my range in a yak.
I do like the simplicity of yak fishing though and have met some new fishing buddies through it. Every time I go to put my PDL up for sale I stop myself.
Also, I have a Lowrance Hook2 on a RAM mount, battery and Thru-Hull wiring kit that I am about to post on Facebook. Would anyone here want it? $150 for everything.

Even with a boat, it’s really nice throwing the yak in the back and not pulling a boat. Since I started yak fishing I’ve fished a ton of different areas for the simplicity of traveling w/a yak vs a boat. Simple stuff like going through a drive through or finding a parking spot in a strip mall. I also really enjoy the exercise. As my kids get older (2&3) I’m sure I’ll spend more time on the boat and less in the yak but I don’t see myself ever not having one. Too much fun and too many benefits.

Never try to tell another grown man what to do but I think you’ll regret selling it, like Stoms said there’s nothing like just throwing the yak in the back of the truck and heading out, it’s just the simplicity/quietness of getting lost in the marsh, love that shite!
Don’t get me wrong I enjoy getting on the boat as well. I guess it’s just situational sometimes you wanna cover a lot of water and I get you can’t do that in a yak but then again in a boat I think that’s the downside, you spend half your day running from spot to spot
in a yak you’re forced to fish certain areas harder
But that’s just me talking out my arse man you gotta do you
And call when the blue wave gets wet

I didn't know where to put this but everybody who posts in this thread generally provides good feedback so I'm choosing to post here.
I went to Academy on lunch break and they had GLoomis E6x rods on sale for $90-$100. I have a couple of these that I paid full price for and think they're a great rod even at $180. I bought one for my Father In Law as a thank you for a nice fishing weekend he takes me on every year.
They had both casting and spinning. It's worth a look if your local Academy is accessible for a quick run.

I love my Bluesky but I’m selling it. Boy is finally old enough to go with me solo and wife wants to come fishing more. I know I’d never use it. Would rather it go to a kayak fisherman that would use it more than I would.

I picked up a spinning and casting rod yesterday. Never used a Loomis rod before but couldn't pass it up at that price. Looking forward to trying them out this weekend.
FYI for anyone interested near Lafayette, Academy on Ambassador still has plenty in stock.

$95, so half price.
Edit to add-the rods weren't marked on sale. Still scanned and rang up at $95 though.

How much were they?
It depends on the model
The ones I saw ranged from $90 to $100

Yeah, no tags. The 7' scanned $100 on one scanner, then $95 on another. The 6'6" would not scan. The clerk took my word for it and priced them both at $95.
I thought our Acad was immune to these sales. Thank you so much!

Ours were all Mag Bass, I think. The two I got were anyway.

Yeah baw. Although I understand they are basically the same rods material wise but different lengths/actions to suit freshwater vs saltwater.

Why can’t they put steering on both sides?
I bought a second steering handle for like $14 from austin kayak for my PA14, now I have steering on both sides.
