CNN was on in the breakroom and they were interviewing people who had been rescued from there. Something liike 75 people have been pulled from flooded houses already. One lady was on there crying her eyes out. It just rips your heart out. Of course I'd be pissed if some jackass shoved a camera in my face the second I got off the rescue boat.

Belle chase is safe.....

East bank of plaq parish levee was topped not broken

One of the lowest levees around...

Staying there in a storm is foolish.

Storm surge came up river....

3 rd time in history revere flowed in reverse

1811 new madrid earthquake

1965 hurricane Betsy

Belle chasse has pretty stout levees

Any word of Grand Isle? Did Carmadelle stay on the island?

How about Mike the Monkey Man in Grande Isle? Any word on him?

I know he rode out Katrina in a tree. I wonder if that guy is crazy enough to think this storm is too small to worry about, or if that last one got his attention.

Makes no difference. You think people in MS don't know what fricking water or levees are? Oh, and that poster is from your neck of the woods...

local news here was saying that the levee was topped but tomorrow they were gonna breach the levee to help ease the pressure on it.

I've personally seen it a couple of times and this would be my 3rd time I vividly remember it. The others are Katrina and Gustav. Curious where you came up with third time? We got lucky this time the river was so low so the downriver flow didn't back up on the surge.

When Hurricane Katrina came ashore in 2005, the Mississippi River also reversed flow, cresting at 13 feet above its previous level, with Baton Rouge reaching 9 feet above its previous stage as well.

Gotta be the back levee on the marsh, not on the river. It's w
A good bit shorter than the river levee.

The westbank around Myrtle grove caught it bad. Up to 8-10ft of water in that area from what I heard from family members in that area.

From what I heard from family members from Buras and Venice (inside the levee) they are ok. Just a little bit of wind damage but no flooding. Outside of the levee in those areas obviously flooded.
