Normally unexpectedly. Looking at different guns and suddenly one jumps out from the others and you decide it has to go in the collection. To the point that you will pay whatever it takes to own it.

Anyone else experience this or am I just being a crazy barner?

Yep. The Marlin Camp 9. Been looking for one locally. They quit making them in 2006. I'll have one some day.

Some of the old side-by-side shotguns do this for me. D grade, small grade Foxes, graded Lefever shotguns among others. Their design and engraving just pulls me in...

It's usually a hunting rifle for me. Handgun? An H&K, S&W Revolver, or some highly priced 1911.

I have one of those that I paid like $100 for

It was completely underwater for over a hour about 3 months ago when our apt flooded.

Oiled it up a little and still fires like it's been held sideways on drivebys in its former life

Bought a used Beretta 686 several years ago. Just could leave without it.

When the Super Vinci came out I ordered it before I ever saw one. I had an SBE 2 and just knew I'd love it. The guy that ordered it said I got the 1st one in Memphis. I still love it.
