Texas Deer Hunt

I'm out of Central Louisiana. Trying to book a hunt this winter for a Texas Deer Hunt. I have been trying to do some research on a ranch to go to but theres about 1,000,000 different places to go and don't want to jump on something that could potentially be a bust.
Any good experiences? Recommendations. I've never been so this is all new for me.

I go to a friends ranch in South Texas, from Lafayette it is a 7 hour drive. It's 300 plus acres low fence but we see many deer. Besides one or two other family members, me and a friend are the only hunters.
We are allowed to harvest cull bucks and a few does. We usually see a few quality deer each day. He was considering offering a few hunts to outsiders but hasn't committed yet.
Let me know and I can give you his contact info.

You should probably narrow down your criteria for what you are looking for to get better suggestions. Texas is a large place and offers a lot of different types of hunting.

High fence or low? Budget? Size deer you are looking for. fwiw From my experience in Texas you will usually be paying for a certain size deer vs a one fee, shoot any deer you want type hunt although those type hunts are out there $$. Go to Texas hunting forum website and look at outfitters section. Lots of places advertise there. I found a place I took my 13 yo daughter last year for a cull 10 pt. was high fence. Worked out great.

I've been here several times. Plenty of deer, good food and accommodations, but nothing fancy. 130's is a good deer here. I killed a buck a little over 150 one year and another about 125 another year. He puts up pics of every deer killed so you have a pretty good idea of what you might can expect. Usually can kill a couple of does and a buck pretty easily.
And NO high fences.

Id prefer low but if theres a high fence and price is right.

Budget?
Hard to even give a budget. Every place i've seen is night and day comparing prices. But I'm willing to spend around $3,000.

Something along the lines of 140-150

$3000 is not likely to get you a 150". You may find a deal on a low 140" for that price.

Greg Simons has been booking hunts in Texas for 25 years. Has access to ranches all over the state. Great food, great guides, lots of different options as far as quality and price. I hunted mule deer and whitetail with him in the past.
LINK
He has numerous videos on YouTube showing the camps, food, guides, and animals.
Highly recommended

Ace High WebsiteAce High Ranch in China Spring has some big rack bucks. Not sure what it would cost for a hunt. My daughter's boyfriend is working there this summer. They have a facebook page, I'll link it later.

We have about 10-15 guys from Baton Rouge and Grand Isle come and hunt our farms and ranch in west texas every year.
Hokie Gajan and my uncle beat the hell out of each other in the NFL for years and became best friends (R.I.P,the man was one of my heroes). Him and his brother and friends have been dove, quail and deer hunting with my family since the late 80's.
I am sure we could work something out if you would like. We aren't an outfitter, but there are more deer than we know what to do with in Tom Green County. We have killed plenty of deer in the 140-150" range and we don't charge South Texas game ranch prices.
If you are looking for a full service hunt on a big time ranch. Check out my buddies operation, it's called Desert Mountain Guide Service. They kill monster whitetail, mulies & aoudad every year. Also have a ton of Rio Grande turkeys on their places as well if you want to do a combo fall hunt.
I have a few more friends with ranches in West central Texas and the western hill country that do day hunts as well. I am sure we can get you fixed up one way or another.

As a China Spring native, I can also recommend this one.

Stayed there last year homecoming weekend (daughter's boyfriends parents hooked us up, he's friends with the owner). Sat in a stand Friday evening and saw some huge deer moving around dusk. Saturday and Sunday mornings I caught a bunch of of big bass in the lake next to the main house. Couldn't keep any but catching them was good enough. Hopefully he hooks us up again this year and the weather is better.

Last time I looked a 130 class deer at most places ran a little over 3k. 150 class varied from 4 to 6k
