Passed by there last weekend and started looking at areal maps. Never been there and seems like it has some diverse habitat on it and surrounding areas.

Would like to know more about the deer and duck populations. Also, any campgrounds nearby?

Ducks hit or miss. Deer hunting can be successful if you work for it
This year is going to be looney toons on the public lands. Between people not working because covid and people bailing on leases because they lost jobs due to covid, I'm expecting max cluster

Don’t forget 75000 less people going to LSU football games, no D2 games and guns flying off the shelves all summer

All of those things I’ve considered too. I typically hunt Tensas and the federal lands around Concordia. Looking to go to a couple new spots.

It’s much better to get away from folks if the water comes up

If it’s low, it’s pretty crowded

You may want to read the regs. I am pretty sure it’s a requirement to have an untrained lab named Drake

The Crow Field sounded like a GD Harley Davidson rally the last time I was there.

people bailing on leases because they lost jobs due to covid

Might be some opportunity there...the kinds of leases around me aren't viable for anyone with a job as you gotta be wealthy and seriously so to afford them but where they are common and affordable to working people there may be some chance of a quality lease for many years to come...

I’ve Duck hunted over there for probably the last 15 years. Like others have said it’s stupid crowded most of the time, you will want to throat punch half the people you meet and the last three years have been pathetic most days. If you live in the area it might be worth you going and scouting around if you have no where to hunt but if you would be making a pretty good haul to hunt there I wouldn’t bother. I feel like a sucker every time I leave my house at 2:00am heading that way.

Thank God Russell Sage is within 30 minutes of where my buddies live but damn you must live forever away or you must want to be first in line. We can't get on Sage till 4:00am.

It’s a 2 hour drive. I generally come sliding into the parking area at 4:00.
