Great gun (got it for my wife--no pics). But it almost wasn't. Was shooting Norma Tac-22 subsonic (40 grain, 1017 FPS), and every shot would misfire. Shells would get caught in the action, etc. Have to rack it each shot.

Tried a CCI and Fiocchi ammo (32 and 40 grain, 1640 and 1060 FPS respectively), and they worked perfectly.

Question: does Norma (ammo was a gift) just suck, though it works fine in our .22 rifle? Is it the FPS I need to look for? Want to get some bulk ammo, but only if it works in this gun, too.

Generally I wouldn’t expect subsonic ammo to run a .22lr pistol reliably. Stay with ammo that is around 1300.

I haven't had very good luck with the Norma Tac-22 or Aguila ammo in my TX 22.

Almost everything else cycles fairly well.

It’s not the gun and it’s not the brand of ammo. It’s simply that subsonic 22 is too weak to cycle reliably. My TX22 does the same.

Pretty much all .22 ammo is subsonic in a pistol. The barrel is too short for supersonic.

No reason to buy sub sonic ammo.

This. Subs will not cycle in the most expensive 22LR pistols

There is a big difference in sound though. Subsonic with a suppressor is so quiet I can shoot it in my backyard. As quiet as a BB gun. And i live in a suburb.

Non subsonic is still pretty quiet but noticeably louder.

My TX22 actually cycles subsonic pretty well (even suppressed) as long as it’s 1017 fps. There are rounds that are like 850fps that are whisper quiet but too anemic to cycle.

Get it. It's so fun, the clips hold more rounds, and it just feels so good to hold.
