I passed by Tallow Creek a bit ago and saw SOLD signs up and the gate was closed and locked. Any of you North Shore baws know what is going on and what the long-term plans are?

We can all agree that the previous set up at Tallow Creek was god-awful. I hope someone does good work here and bring s it back to life, as it is only 5 minutes away from my house.

No inside info but I bet it's the next subdivision coming soon to the 1077 area.

I thought the EPA's restrictions on the amount of soils contaminated with lead would make this basically cost prohibitive. I'm heard at one time it would take 6-8' of cut and up to 10' of imported fill to build on.

I would love that to be true. I have no idea but the way homes are being built there hard to believe something else wont be built.

Ya. Some people will build on anything. Like that neoghborhood that borders that old creosote place on 22. I would hate to spend 500k just to get cancer.

Ill have to see what I can dig up. How far behind are thpse real estate transfers in the paper? Arent they like 2 weeks or so behind the actual sale?

You're talking about building in STTP, grease the right pockets and you can get damn near anything built anywhere.

Hard to believe it would take a cut that deep. When Hunter's Run harvested lead, they cut maybe a foot.

But I don't see how Tallow Creek can dig through all the vegetation and dredge the ponds where clays have been shot.

eta. Corrected auto spell.

Yeah, I've seen what lead remediation costs can be at an indoor range. I can't imagine what that number looks like at an outdoor range that size.

1077 is going to become impassable if they slap a big neighborhood in there.

Looks like business might be picking up at Honey Island for the foreseeable future.

Just wait until the Rouse's is complete by AHHS. This side of town is growing exponentially.

I wouldn't mind a grocery store over here. Would be awfully nice to not have to drive to Winn Dixie

Rouse's is definitely coming to that parcel. I would not be surprised to see construction start before school starts back in August.

As far as traffic the Ochsner to 1077 extension is supposed to start late this year/early next so that should help also for traffic maybe a little.

I had heard Rouses declined because they weren't allowed the square footage they wanted. Ralph's bailed as well when construction took forever to get going. If it is, in fact, going to be a Rouses, it'd be great...I'll just believe it when I see it.

This is why we are about to list the house, 4. We need some acreage and its gotten too congested for us. 14 yrs ago it was a four way stop at I-12 when we moved in. I get progess and all but you cant even turn RIGHT out the subdivision on Friday afternoons. And I-12 East? Forget about it.

As far as the range I saw the same Saturday. You about need 4x4 and 4" lift to get in there. $10 per hr was too much anyway for that crap. Honey Island is where I go regardless of time to get there etc.
