I have a Mule MX pro on order and hoping it will be in the next few weeks. It comes with 25" Tires. Looking to put on some 27 or 28" but want to keep the 12" rims.

For 28" looking at

GBC Dirt Commanders
Swamp Lites

27"
Tusk Terrabites

I will be using it maily for hunting and farm type work. Want the bigger tires for a little more ground clearance. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just called them. They want $1600 for a set. I would rather buy 14" rims nd 28's than spend $1600 on shocks.

Didn't say they were cheap

Reviews are great. Lots of people say it's the best upgrade they have done.

They do some nice stuff with the Kawasaki's. The youtube guy says the MX is built for 28" tires. I am getting the LE with the nicer aluminum rims. One reason I would like to stay with a 12" rim tire but going to a 14" is tempting with 28". That would give me almost 3" of added GC. I have the tires already sold to a buddy who wants to put on his Honda 300. Selling the rims might be a little tougher.

Yeah, factory rims and tires don't have a ton of value. I think they can be found pretty easily like new for $300 or so.

I would go with the terrabites. I know it may not make much of a difference, but the 27"s will put less wear on your belt. I've also seen nothing but positive reviews from people running the terrabites on the mule mx. I'm considering it myself once I get a bit more life our of my factory tires.

ETA: I've also seen people speak highly of the sedona coyotes.

I have some 29" Dirt commanders and some 30" Tusk Terrabites. For just general purposes, the Terrabites are great.

25” vs. 28” is 3” outside diameter difference, you’d only realize 1.5” ground clearance increase, not 3”…

If I went with a 14” rim on 28” it would be almost 3inches. If I stay with 12” rim you are correct.

I don't think the rim size matters. A 28x10x14 tire is going to have the same diameter as a 28x10x12.

I’d go with 28”. The swamp lites are a harder compound, which you want for a heavy sxs but they don’t clean out well in the mud. I’d pick either of the other two.

A 28” from a 25” tire will only give you 1.5” of added ground clearance. IF the tires measure true to size, that’s best case. Wheel size will not double it lol.

28” diameter tire is 28” no matter the wheel size, you’ll just have shorter sidewalls, ie. lower profile tire…
