We enjoy our pool, especially with our 10 year old daughter/friends.

We have a salt system, and that helps make it more convenient... no corrosion issues, but I wouldn't argue hard for it or against it... its just a little machine turning salt to chlorine... both still have to be monitored.

If you like the house and the pool, I'd go for it! What's a few bucks either way if it buys you some time with your kids?

I put the Mrs. "off" on getting a pool for years. Finally broke down and went with it. I had less than zero experience with pools. I purchased a 28,000 gallon in ground liner pool. Salt system. It is virtually maint free. Check the water about every other week which is free, put in whatever the pool store tells you and add salt when the little light on the system says add. That's it. Now we are the party spot during the summer mos. we have a 4 and 8 yr old, they live in it. Pools are like anything else, subjective. Some only want this some that, we wanted one to swim in, not some kind of expensive yard landscaping. Insurance not affected at all.
