The two guys from myrtle grove love to get out the boat for some reason. I hardly ever got out the boat and definitely not in the situations they got out for.
I thought the same thing... theres no reason to leave the boat really

This biggest I've ever seen was 14+ feet

We were in the mudboat and his was sitting on a downed cypress tree.. He was the length of the tree and longer than our 14' boat by a good bit

Exactly what I thought. It wasn't officially recorded either. I contacted the Florida State University and they have the biggest research department on alligators and they said the official one was the 14'2 one. He said there was stories of gators in the 1800's that were around 18-20 foot but who knows. They take forever to get that big.

My dad grew up hunting them in the mid 1950's and on and the biggest one he caught/saw was 13'11. And that's way back in the day. He grew up in Pilottown, LA about 12 miles south of venice, la and you can only get there by boat.

I dont see how the one in St. Martinville was not recorded, it made the newspaper when it was shot.

This is true. there are some 15'+ footers in Tensas, Concordia, Morehouse & Ouachita Parish. Hell, if you ever fish the Yucatan, there is a ditch on the left side of the gravel road, going in, that a 14 footer is spotted regularly.

Yea ive seen many in the 13-16ft range in SE texas, Is there alot of gator hunting up there? If not thats why thet are getting that big. Way to many rednecks and coonasses hunting them down here for them to get big.

Glad to see lake verret on the show, over the last 10 years the gators on the lake have gotten big and are really starting to over populate.

My uncle's camp is in the Lake Verret area. Down that long gravel road (four mile bayou rd)in Stephenville. I have seen some really big gators up on the banks. 10-12 foot range. Long is one thing, but when the get that big, they get get real wide.
