And here I am with a bunch 1950's era M1 Garand AP ammo.

Folks, the propellants used in small arms ammunition are designed to handle temperature extremes, it's a major requirement in the military specs and it's an inherent quality of the chemicals used to make the stuff. Properly loaded ammo is hermetically sealed, the powder and primer compounds are extremely stable. Unless the ammo is exposed to moisture then there really isn't much that's going to bother it. Good, USA-made ammo cans are excellent storage containers, you could burry them in the yard for a few years and nothing inside would be damaged, an attic is nothing.
