I don't have experience with the Echo, but I would buy a Stihl again in a heartbeat.

Any richer than 45:1 with modern synthetic mix oils and you are wasting money and starting to work against the detergency that's a strong part of the additive package. I mix exactly at 50:1 and my piston rings have zero carbon on them and just a shade on the crown.

I'm on year 11 of my echo. End of season empty the fluids, only maintenance I've done.

They are both good brands sell both.
Echo has a few things that make it shine and Sthil also has a few units that are tanks.

TrueFuel made in Shreveport and it does help get more life out of your engine. Avg subdivision homeowner in South Louisiana would avg a can or less a month in April, May, June, July, and August including using the blower.

Most good service centers promote it for a reason.

I have the SRM 230. Got it for about the same price as the 225 on an Ebay open box auction. Thing is ridiculous. I am a Trufuel proponent. I may go thru 2 cans in a season for my yard so the high price tag doesn't matter to me. If you're running your 2 stroke equipment more than that then just run whatever fuel you want for the season then dump half a tank of Trufuel to run in it to end the season. You can leave the stuff in your tank and carb and it won't go bad or gum up the fuel system. Supposed to have a 2 year shelf life.

The SRM230 throws a larger diameter string and can power through really high weeds but other than that there's nothing wrong at all with the SRM225.

Have a Husqvarna weedeater and blower. Very dependable and always starts.
I use corn gas with Sta-bil and have had no issues to my amateur eyes.

Yes it is expensive if you were burning 5-10 gallons a year but a typical homeowner will not burn a gallon a year so in reality at $20 per gallon it's really not that high

I've gotten like 8+ years out of a cheap ryobi trimmer, and i believe 100% it's because of trufuel. Still cranks within two pulls. I will never use anything else for residential use.
