Say what!?

The pistol hasn't been released yet.

You might have a 3.3 XDM

I'm thinking the same thing.

He probably has an XDsc but it's obviously the double stack and not single stack version.

EDIT: Cold Pizza, with today's powder technology, 45, 40, and 9mm are about on the same playing field, depending on what round you choose.

I love me some Kahr and it will probably be my next pistol I buy but it aint no XDs. I wanted a heavy hitter and chose the .45 for that purpose.

You can say that 9mm has advanced lots in the last 20 years but so has the .45acp. They are not on the same playing field. Will both get the job done, sure. But one has a distinct knock down advantage and one has a distinct capacity advantage.

I chose the knock down power because I dont plan on playing Walker, Texas Ranger. If I have to use my XDs, with its 3.3" barrel, I plan on pulling the trigger only as many times as needed. With my extended mag, I now have 8 shots. I keep my Glock in my truck and 1911 on my nightstand for further encounters.

Edited for grammar.

Well it depends on what specific details of each round you're referring to. If you're looking to get good penetration, by rule of physics, the much heavier 45 ACP bullet will most likely penetrate more.

But if you're talking about just straight energy transfer, they really are on the same playing field.

In this test, the 9mm 124gr +p Speer Gold Dot actually outperformed the 45 ACP 200gr +p Gold Dot, and the 230gr Gold Dot:

Great gun - it's what I carry concealed almost exclusively. As CP3 said, a Pearce grip extender ($15) is an absolute must unless you have small hands. I also bought an IWB holster from Garrett Industries - took a while to get but well worth it. I carry on the right hip and the weight and size is very comfortable for a .45 caliber pistol. You won't regret the purchase.

Preface: I carry a .45

However, it's getting silly how people think a 9mm is some sort of pellet gun or something. 9mm is a killing round, especially with today's ammo.

And if you don't think so, ask anyone who works the trauma unit at your nearest hospital...or your local coroner.

As if a 9mm won't.

I've handled the Rugers before but never owned one. One of them is one my bucket list, just not sure which one.

Fish, I have no idea what you're talking about. Nobody said that a 9mm was not deadly. No need to get upset over nothing.

I love my SR9c. It is an amazing firearm.

Ruger just released the SR45 at SHOT show this week. MUST HAVE!

Wasn't upset. I quoted what CP said, which certainly implied 9mm wouldn't "kill something". But I don't care, really. I don't own a 9mm. It's just become common rhetoric that 9mm isn't an effective round for defense, when in fact, it is.

Also, I don't recall quoting you, or involving you in any way. Seems like you're the one getting upset.

Jesus the pissbagging in this thread resembles the Rant.

Yes, a 9 mm will "kill something." And yes the advancement of bullet technology has favored 9 mm more than .45. My point is I believe the efficacy advantage of .45 more than compensates for the the fact you carry fewer rounds.

We agree, FWIW. That's why I carry a .45.

Just pointing out that 9mm is a fine round as well.

It's a really good little pistol. Actually, put another 50 rounds through it today. Really like it, especially for c&c pistol. I have bigger hands and prefer my extended mags due to the shorter grip. The recoil compared to a full size .45 is noticeable but definitely not overwhelming. Overall, a very nice little piece!!!
