Anyone have any info on if the turkey are still vocal and looking or are the already “hen’d” up? Will be hoping to hunt a few days at the end of the week.

Plenty of responses and sightings at our place. Buddy has killed 2 in past 3 weeks. We’re in gloster.

Gobbling in trees on the good weather morning. Once a hen in sight no more gobbling

Worst year I've seen in SW Mississippi. I hate to say but I took up perch fishing because it's more exciting.

Good idea.

Where is your lease? I'd like to go take a look tomorrow morning.

Slowly but surely getting henned up... I still have a few birds pretty vocal but went yesterday afternoon to get a kid on a jake and the only bird i heard in the afternoon/ on the limb was the 1 jake. Plan on going tomorrow and Wednesday mornings before work to see what I cant hear.

Between that and the weather it doesn’t sound too good for us this weekend.

Anyone gone turkey hunting this week? I'm hunting Tate County in North MS this weekend. I saw several turkeys in a field on my way to work this morning, and a friend said he has seen a bunch out this morning while travelling Hwy 72 through North MS. I think it's starting to pick up around here. Looking back at pics from the last few years, we either get them opening weekend or between April 10-20. I went Saturday morning on my mom's place in Greene County, AL and heard one way off, it was pretty windy and rainy though

Went this am before work and birds are definitely shutting up now. The only birds I heard were the same 2 jakes with the possibility of a mature bird that gobbled once off in the distance.

We are headed out tomorrow to hunt Friday, Saturday and Sunday if the weather allows. Looks like we may be lucky enough to have both hen’d up gobblers and bad weather. Haha.

Just wait till he breeds all the hens. By 11-1 oclock he will be fired up gobbling trying to find the last straggler (AKA you). Most time will come running into your lap

Hunted all day yesterday. Other guys I’m hunting with heard one gobble once early at a long distance. None of the rest of us heard anything all day.
Maybe it will be better today

Poplarville. Heard one gobble from a distance and jumped on on roost about 730. Seems like they’re roosting until the fog dies down.

Still bad. Did get on a couple gobbling good after 8 this morning but still very lock jaw as a whole. No gobbles on the limb.

It’s 3 of us. After only hearing one distant gobble the whole day yesterday the birds were more vocal today.
One killed after 45 mins of calling him in
One had a Tom and Jake gobble and come to call but hang up without seeing them
And I didn’t hear a thing were I was.
