It’s an illness. Once I get these cans, my nephews AR and my 9mm done I’m turning my attention to night vision and thermals.

Yes it is. I’m wanting a new thermal setup and the gun, optic, mount and can will be half of what a new ranger XP1000 cost

Probably piece it together over the next year or two and buy the thermal last in case something better comes out.

Jump in. Suppressors make shooting fun again.

Oh I know I already have some. Just been waiting for the fee to expire to load up on all the ones that have been on my wish’s list and upgrade the old ones I have since there’s so much new shite out there now and the arsenal has expanded significantly.

Your post sounds like you might be using a .30 cal can on a .22 lr.

Don’t do that. It will lead up the silencer.

It can get out of hand. I did get some buy in on more nv/thermal the other night when we used my thermal monocle to find my sils dumbass dog that took off after a pig. I’m going to move the AR10 to a big boy thermal and keep the 300 for closer range and try and get some weight off it. I’d also really like some IR goggles for driving around at night.

I did just up my game with a drone to scout ahead for pigs which has been cool af.

Interesting I’ve never heard that. Should the 22 be running dedicated rimfire cans? I was hoping to be able to buy one the kids can grow into since they’ll only be on 22 for another year or two tops.

You need NV for this. If in a car you can’t “see” with IR through glass or whatever.

I meant NV just spazzed typing while watching football. I already screw with the kids trying to look out the window with the thermal. Gets them every time.

Yes I would recommend using a .22 rimfire suppressor for them. There was one the other day I was looking that was rated for 5.7 but can’t remember which one it was. It peaked my interest and probably have it in my notes.

There is a .22 cal can that can also do .223 from liberty but I don’t know if it’s worth a shite.

Damn. I’ll just get three cheap ones then. I can retire them to 10/22s eventually anyway.

don’t recommend putting a can on an 8” 5.56 barrel. It’s going to blast the hell out of the baffles. I run a surefire RC2 on my 11”. You will probably find some with iconel internals that can take it but it’s going to take a beating.

He'd have to have a severe duty rated Inconel can like a B&T or Irregular Defense type stuff. Something made for military 10.5" in mind. And even still, you're getting into some really dicey territory there.

Q el Camino, mask and rugged oculus will all handle the 5.7 I believe.

I have the el Camino and oculus. They’re both great cans.

Ive heard before that as long as you give it a harsh dose of centerfire rounds occasionally it's fine. Have heard that its going to ruin any welded suppressor in 100 rounds...

No way to really find out without sacrificing one, which obviously nobody wants to do.

Doesn’t seem like it’s worth it. I’ll just get them all rimfire cans and make sure at least one is a nice one I’ll want later. Probably grab 1 mask and a couple cheaper ones like a JK 105

I have a Silco Sparrow and it will handle 5.7. It was the first can I bought 13 yrs ago. I’ve put thousands of rds through it. Clean it with the dip about every thousand rds.
