Duh, but there's still the issue of the hole where it should be. I can't use it if it sinks.

They're $1700 new, I would either buy a new mirage drive system for it (you would have a $1700 kayak for $500) or do like I said before and sell it to put towards a kayak that doesn't have a big arse hole in it.

Or sell it and buy a brick of 22 ammo.

While on dry land, run a hose into the hatch and start filling it up with water. Then see where it is leaking from.

My guess would be a crack around one of the scupper holes or mirage drive hole. If that is true, you can plastic weld the crack and you'll be good to go.

Spend the 500$ on a new mirage drive system and you'll have 4 times the kayak you were thinking about buying. Bad arse rig

Great kayak. The Mirage drive is awesome. Not to mention they sell a sail kit for it. Sails make any boat like a hundred times cooler.

How big a boy are ya Doc?

That kayak is basically a hollow piece of plastic and it should not sink. That being said look and see if they sell a plastic plug for it. I would think that they would be easy to loose therefore there should be a replacement.

Like someone else mentioned. . . depending on your weight, you may be exceeding the limit and that is the reason it is sinking.

The Hobie Sport is a little kayak; I think it's 10ft long with a weight capacity of only 230lbs.

(By comparison, most kayaks people will use for fishing are at least 12ft long with a weight capacity of 350-600lbs)
