please tell me why for $499 free shipping this isn't a great rifle to buy and play with?

I have one ar-15 but sometimes i wonder if he's lonely and needs a mate.

I’d buy one for $499. Come with the sights too?

The M&P Sport (the II has the forward assist, the original did not) and Ruger entry level $500 guns are fantastic values.

I'm not interested because I would have to change triggers, furniture and so forth, but for someone who doesn't know what they want and wants to put holes in targets (or potentially defend himself), these are fine, fine choices.

would prolly change pistol grip quickly but can live with the rest for a shite kicker. May put my red dot site on this and put a 1x8 type scope and my other.

because a 10/22 is cheaper, more accurate, and has way more aftermarket tacticool parts.

Turn this:

Hmmm, does it have a 1:7 or 1:9 barrel twist?

Actually, for 499, who cares?

Well Chad, that's a helluva value for that price. Almost all real solid positive reviews. You just made me give my wife the credit card and promise not to let me have it back until the fever subsides a little!!

Because one is a real rifle and the other is a pretend tacticool for a potatoe that either can't afford the real thing or his mama won't let him buy one.

He thought the OP was talking about the 15-22 and not a 5.56

ETA: OP, when I bought my first one I thought I could get one and I'd be happy. 5 ARs later and I have no idea what I was really thinking.

I also have 3 lowers ready to be built. 2 80% lowers and one AR-10 lower.

are you saying the SW .22 is a "real" rifle, and the 10/22 isnt?
