We are coming to South Louisiana fishing and are having to stay in Slidell one night. Where is the best hotel to stay?Looking for somewhere safe and not in a bad area a we will have lots of fishing gear locked up in trucks. Somewhere next to some good food and drink.

Anything there at I-10 and 190 (to clarify, actual, not business - there aren't as many choices at 190 business, but it would be okay as well - just another mile or so) should be aight. Well-lit, busy, surveillance cameras everywhere. About 1 of everything there, so pick your poison or reward program.

Consider an AirBnb too.

They have a bunch on the water too which would be cool. I bet they are running cheap right now with a lack of travelers

Slidell isn't too bad, day-to-day. It's been awhile since I've been down there, but my wife has family there. Obviously there are bad spots everywhere, but when you see a cluster of motels and mid-tier food restaurants all clustered together next to a major interstate exit? Those are reasonably safe bets unless you have specific reasons to avoid it.

Best and newest would be the TownePlace Suites off the Fremaux Ave exit. It's right next to Fremaux Town Center with plenty of restaurants and shops and right off I-10.

There are several new hotels in the Slidell area, most major chains have a presence.

This or windgate . Don’t stay at laquinta , they are housing homeless due to COVID . Or any off airport road by the interstate will be fine . Avoid all others
