I need a sleeping bag to do overnight camping. I have upper back/shoulder issues on one side. Is there a magic sleeping bag for me?

I'm thinking the girl scouts of America frown upon Jim beam at campouts....but maybe not?

Need a good air mattress. What kind of camping. Out of a car or packing.

Thermarest has some good stuff.

Thx. Added to cart. Also have a wenzel bag in there. Anyone heard of them?

Camping out of a car. My shoulder is too bad to carry a pack. Hopefully it'll get better bc that's something I really want to do with my kids. For now we will stick to girl scout campouts and long weekends in our camper on my tempurpedic queen size bed

Go to cabrlas or the backpacker. You can try out the different mattresses. Mrs dust likes a big air mattress. I like a small thin pad.

If your car camping you can get a queen sized one. They make some that is more comfortable than my bed. But it's more to pack.

Air mattress or also consider a memory foam pad. Rather than a pad designed for camping I use a memory foam mattress topper that is 2" and I trimmed down a bit for camping. You can get them thicker than that if needed. It makes a huge difference.

Are you going to one of the GSLE campgrounds? I'm pretty sure all three campgrounds have mattresses on metal bed frames. They're about 3-4 inches thick and plastic-coated, so not terribly comfortable, but you're not exactly sleeping on the ground. (I've gone with my daughter to Camp Whispering Pines & Camp Marydale, and she stayed at Camp Covington so I peeked at their tents/cabins.)

I'd still bring some type of foam or air mattress to put on top of the existing mattress if possible.

I've got pretty severe back issues and I use a big arse air mattress and it's pretty much orgasmic by night two.

I have a cot that I really like. But I don't normally bring it cause it doesn't fit in my smaller tent. If I bring the big tent I'll bring the cot. But that's one more thing to pack.

Not sure what brand, got it from Cabelas. The Mrs has one that has a air matress on it.

Cots are also cooler for summer time camping.

Dorothy. We will be at marydale at some point, but this time we will be at the zoo for overnight camping. They specifically said no air mattresses. I'm also about to order a tent, bc I think our kids are spoiled with our camper we also plan on taking the troop for some overnighters at the state campground.

Yeah, you're SOL at the zoo...that's the floor of the education building.

Will they let you bring one of those rolled up foam mattress pads? There are even some thin air mattresses which are self-inflating. It might be better than nothing.

Or you could just bring an extra sleeping bag, as thick as you can find, and sleep on top of that.

The best sleeping bag in the world won't matter if you're sleeping on a hard surface. Get yourself a good air mattress or inflatable pad.
