I thought the point of sighting it is is to make it pin point accurate. Free floating is less precise. You don't need them both working against you (being off and having to free float during the hunt).

have point of contact with sand bag at the butt stock and the forearm.. let the barrel float,, (be free to do it's thing)..

Yall are kidding right?
Not much messes up accuracy more than something being in contact with the barrel. That's why you float them so their stock doesn't touch it.
