Damnit. It's probably a good thing we all missed it. I'm sure it was a disaster.
You should post that vid on the OT and sit back and watch the shite show

What is the definition of canned hunting?
Posted on 6/21/11 at 8:42 am to LSU_Lou
One of the articles linked talks about hand rearing big game animals only to be tied or penned up for the sole purpose of being killed by a paying guest. If that is what canned hunting involves I am all for banning any such act.

Agree
In Alabama the sale of hunting license and ammunition tax fund the Alabama Game and Fish division as well as three other branches of our state government entirely.
Tree hugger for the most part are dope smoking idiots that are just looking for a band wagon to jump on. frick em!

I just watched the canned hunt show. I saw nothing wrong with it. I am not in any way a fan of high fenced hunting, but what was the big deal with their show? Why the hidden cameras? Nothing was illegal. Most people bring cameras with them I would think. Acting like sneaking a camera in was so important and they were going to uncover something big.
Hunting feed stations? whats the big deal? corn feeders are everywhere around here. Hunting from high in the air? Tree stands is what you hunt from. I think it was also a jab at normal hunters.

This is what I suspected. I figured they were trying to portray all hunting in the same light as high-fence shooting.
I, for one, would never pay for a high fence hunt. If somebody I know has a high fence op and needs somebody to help thin out the does, I'll participate. Just like I help people pen cows and send them to the stockyard. A high fence operation is pretty much the same as a cattle operation. A cattle operation is in no way comparable to actual hunting. The animal planet chaps my arse so bad
Imma try to catch it next time it's on. I'll make sure to take my blood PSI meds before watching.

What I did not understand is the hidden camera activity. They acted as beeing undercover and sneaky with a camera, like no one films a hunt. Giving the impression that they were goin g inot the underworld of hunting.

I actually saw parts of it. These canned hunts are done illegaly with out licences. These "guides" will buy any animal for you to kill i even saw a guy that had a kangaroo for someone to kill. Most of these people will use tranquilizers on the animals to they will be easier to kill. One of the guys had an entire room of mounts from animals he overdosed. From what i saw its a dirty practice with no sport in it and the people are p.o.s.

I thought all the places they went to were legal high fence places. maybe there were illegal.
A canned hunt is like hunting farm animals no doubt but the way they played it out was to make it sound worse than it actually is. Example, they show penned animals that they were petting stating the animals were so tame that they would not run off. But yet the rams were running away when she acted as if she was going to shoot one.
Not wild animals by any means but the editing of the show and the play on words was a jab on hunters.

Yea they did try to make some parts worse for dramatization. But there were alot of dirty things going on. Most these places do have "legal" hunts but they do alot of behind the scenes illgal dealings.
