Should I Plant Walk In Trails To Box Stands

Picture the box stand with a food plot in front and a road to the side “L shaped” or directly behind the box stand where you drive/walk to access stand/plot.
Do you guys plant the access roads even though you’ll be walking to and from stand there?
I keep these roads open so we can catch deer crossing but there’s nothing stopping them for a quick shot. Figure if I throw some seed out they may nibble a bit for a shot. But I’m not wanting to constantly spook deer while walking in either. What do you fellas do if have similar situation?

Plant it, and you may make a kill walking into stand for an evening hunt. Move slowly and silently, along the edges not right up the middle of the lane.

No for me because there is nothing I hate more than being busted by a 4 yr old doe in my plot while I’m trying to get on the stand. They’ll run 200 yards and blow for what seems like an eternity. I know it’s not true, but it just makes me think my hunt is over before it began

Just drop the disk/tiller along one edge on your way in if you want to create something to stop them. Whatever grows back will hold their interest as well as anything in the plot. If we tried to run a seeder over every lane we’d throw about 4000 lbs under pine trees, and I’m not mad enough at them to hand seed that.

I don’t and would never. Most of the time I walk with the wind in my face the best I can. I for sure wouldn’t knowingly plant something to attract deer down wind of me.

Narrow E-W roads/trails rarely get enough sun in the fall to sustain much of what you plant. A N-S road is better but still not great. I say no, focus your time and treasure on something more productive.

If the roads are planted, I would thing they would find feeding there preferable to feeding in your actual food plot. I wouldn’t do it.

I like to think the rest of the deer are thinking "oh theres that old bag bitchin Betty blowing at birds again" and totally ignoring her.
Bitching Betty gonna catch a bullet 10/10 times if I can get her though

If you are like me you are gonna plant everything you did last year, a couple new places, and still have 400lbs of seed left over at the end of the day. Might as well seed everything in sight.
