8pt that weighed in at 225 lbs. Killed near Tylertown, MS. Been deer hunting 15 years and I have never seen a shooter buck much less had the chance to take one. When he stepped out of the woods it was one of the most surreal moments of my life.

That deer looks like a fat summabitch.

He must have been big boned.

Well done and congrats.

I've seen plenty of spikes, 4pts, etc. but nothing ever worth taking. We've had monsters on the cameras but they'd never show up during the season. At least until now

You have patience my friend. I probably wouldn’t have lasted 15 years. But we grew up shooting smaller bucks than what you are looking for.

I’ve had those surreal moments with deer, when they just show up, and it’s just magical. It’s a great sport...

I shot my first buck at 28 after hunting all my life. Like you saw a bunch of scrub bucks and had the deer of a lifetime get spooked and run off before I could get my gun up in my teens.

When I shot my 9 point it was amazing.

Congrats on getting that first one.

225 is a man. Was he chasing? How his hocks look?

He wasn't chasing right then. Just stepped out of the woods at the edge of the green field and I caught him slipping. He was definitely rutting though. Super swollen neck and zero body fat
