PETA is aggregating HUGE lists of hunters/fishermen to target with future ads/marketing stuff

How will they use this list?

Good. More troll opportunities.

It was awesome when PETA groups would be in front the union at LSU doing that free speech alley bullshite wanting people to sign petitions. Offer to sign it and write something dumb like "eat what you kill" and frick their page all up.

I love animals and I don't hunt with guns but I have nothing against hunting. I also like to shoot guns and I'd love to learn archery.

I've been on a few hunts, but I just watch.

Elk is very tasty too.

Data, baw. Facebook gives brands the ability to learn a creepy amount of information about people. Demographic, psychographic and location data on your competition (or in PETAs case, their enemy) is always a good thing to have. Also, when you choose to use filters like that, many times it acts as an opt-in for those brands to aggregate your data because you "chose" to participate.

Basic Example: if there is a huge influx of anti-PETA facebook users near Spanish Fort, AL, they may choose to do an anti-hunting rally at the Bass Pro Shops in Spanish Fort, vs. doing it at the Denham Springs Bass Pro because they know it will have a bigger impact and more media coverage.

Huge companies can figure out amazing things with data.

I just don't see what a PETA rally is going to accomplish anywhere in the Deep South. Maybe I'm wrong.

That kind of supports the troll being a good thing. They'll see influx of interest here, organize a rally, and get sent home with their tails between their legs.

Oh I agree, it will do nothing IMO. I was just giving a basic example for the guy who asked what they would do with that kind of info.

Meh, might be somewhat true.

I dont really mess with facebook, been like 8 months since I updated or posted anything.

Changed my picture to this frame and had people liking the picture that I know dont own any guns or anything. The smiley faces or whatever as well. Pretty much a bunch of people I know that dont hunt or anything are laughing because it was a joke. Could also be because I'm a pretty normal person and not some dumbass its brown its down red neck also.

PETA said the filter did exactly what they wanted, showing hunters to be monsterous meanies. They wanted to get trolled...
