Ok where can I get shiners? Sulphur, Moss Bluff, Westlake, even Dequincy/Vinton maybe? Anywhere?

I received these responses a couple weeks ago when I asked the same question on FB. The only place of the three that I tried was Cajun Cowboys in Vinton, and they were out, so I cannot speak for the other two places. But give em a shot, and report back so that I know for the weekend

Someone told me Park side Marina in Moss Bluff not far from Sam Houston Jones st. park. Can’t confirm that though

Gaspard's in Grand Lake used to have them. I'm not sure if they still do.

Remember riding with paw paw somewhere around Creston to pick up shiners for his little store as a wee child. Loaded them into the back of the station wagon. He raised his own night crawlers.
