Have a 23 ft dual console that ya dont see many of around here . Its a great fishin and general ridin boat

Yami F 250

Am thinking about bringing it to Legendary Marine in Destin for them to sell on consignment. They are on the water .

Anybody done a consignment deal ?

Anybody dealt with Legendary ? They are a big Fla boat dealer

Im not in to meeting tire kickers and neaux shows for a trial run here on the Tickfaw.

My two cents: it's all about the fee structure. Be skeptical of any structure that requires more than nominal monthly charges. I feel that fees tied to a percentage of the sale price is the only way to somewhat align incentives, especially if you set a floor price you can live with after deducting their fee.

I had a bad experience when I did consignment. A friend had a great experience and got way more than he ever would've asked for the boat. All depends on the shop you deal with. Good luck.

I had a very, very negative experience with Legendary in Destin. I wouldn't do business with them again if the boat were free.

If your boat is desirable it will sell. No need for consignment.

I sold my boat on consignment through the Boat Yard. I have a feeling that I didn't get a great deal on it and it seemed shady towards the end. I wasn't told anything about the deal other than my take home payment was 20k. It was listed for 30k, so someone could have offered 28k and The Boat Yard told me it was much less to increase their payment. I just went by and picked up my check and called it a day. The only reason I used them is because there were some problems with the boat and didn't want to deal with the buyer, so it was easier to let them handle it.

Not sure about now but about 10 years ago Boat Yard was the shadiest dealer West of the Mississippi.

Yep, I would never buy or sell a boat through them again.

I bought a boat from them and had the exact same feeling when it was all said and done.

Buying.

Rude, ignorant, lying salesmen. Terrible follow up service. Refused to fix several chronic problems with the boat.

For instance: the macerators would run for about 2 mins and then burn up. Every time. They refused to replace them after the first time.

Also, the scuppers drained into the bilge, not overboard. Nearly sank the boat. They refused to fix and I had to haul the boat all the way back to the manufacturer to get it repaired.

They left the windows open to my cuddy when it was parked outside and it rained into the cabin and ruined the upholstery. And they refused to replace it.

They were total assholes about everything.
