Selling a gun online questions

When you sell a gun online, do you ship it to a gun dealer for the person to pickup? If so I guess they coordinate that with the person at the gun shop and then give me the info?
Also, what avenues have yall used to ship a gun? It is a pistol.
Any other tips?

sell local, to heck with all that. but yes, they have to give you an FFL that will accept delivery from a non FFL, you ship it to them via fed ex or ups. typically you're going to pay nominal fees on a gunbroker and stuff.

I believe you can ship it directly to the buyer via FedEx without issue. If you want FFL transfer that wouldn't work, obviously. Only gun I purchased non f2f was shipped to my doorstep from the seller. Just make sure to require signature and get insurance.

Only if you want to commit a federal felony. I think it is 10 years and $100k fine. Interstate transfer of a handgun must go through a FFL.

Only if you ship it out of state

Correct. I guess from the way he wrote the OP I assumed this was an interstate transfer. I though everyone knew that private transfers intrastate didn't require a FFL.
BTW, the ATF is trying to encourage them all to go through a FFL now. There is a box for the FFL to check during a NICS transfer that says "private transfer".
