Seacocks for Bay Boat Transom Thru-hulls

Right now all I can think of is a bronze mushroom thru hull with a valve threaded on. I think it'd be better than nothing since nobody steps in the bilge I'm not worried about breaking it off, But I'd like a proper bolted on seacock just so I can bear down on the valve if I need to. It's just so tight down there. I'm not sure why Kenner felt like they needed to put the penetrations almost on the hull. They don't pick up when running anyway, so why not put them halfway between the hull and floor and put a real seacock?

Stuff like this makes me hate bay boats, along with having shite for bilge access.

Right at the transom/hull joint maybe a half inch.

Only thing that looks like it would fit are the spartan ones, at about $350 each.

The forespar marelon thru hulls look like they might be a little smaller too.
You could also plug the transom holes and put your seacocks through the bottom of the hull.

Edit: Do you feel like you need seacocks because you have protruding thru hulls? i feel like if they are just mushrooms, a stout bronze or stainless thru hull would probably never break off.

I understand, I think I would plug the old holes and go into the bottom or use heavy duty thru hulls and double clamped connections. you could also get a valve that threads directly onto your thru hull so you have a valve upstream of the livewell pump. Thats if none of the seacock on the market fit.
Groco also makes a small tri flange like the one i sent.

I was just about to post that. I think if you threaded it down tight, it would hold if something snapped down stream. probably not as good as a normal flange, but better than nothing. They are OEM but there are some on great lakes skipper.

cool, share some pics when you get it done. I'd looked into marelon stuff a while back for aluminum boats and they seem to be well reviewed. The complaints were from people who didnt exercise the valve for a very long time.

That looks to be the case and seems to be a way better option than ball valve on thru hull.

First project is cutting a hole in the floor for a hatch so I have some room to do this shite.
