so i was on here about 2 weeks ago and declared it was official, we were moving to Denver. fast foward to 2 days ago, about to sign a lease for a new apartment in Denver, i was so excited.. about 2 hours before we intend to call to sign the lease, the GF gets a phone call, its one of her friends who owns a successful business here in BR that works in NOLA as well. she was offered a job, as well as a becoming business partners... dont get me wrong im super excited for her, but im mad as hell im not moving to Denver.

so my question is what are some hobbies i can get into down here involving the outdoors. i have never been hunting, i like deep sea fishing but i only have a sail boat so it would be a challenge.
what im really looking into is scuba diving, getting certified and going diving every now and then.. who is certified and where can i dive around here? how much will it run me to get certified?

Kayaking. Unlimited spots to fish, both freshwater and salt.

If you're into sports golf is another option. Beach volleyball if you're in baton rouge.

How big? I've caught dolphin trolling off a sailboat before. Some pretty nice ones.

Urban hiking in new Orleans. If you survive you win.

But seriously kayaking would be some thing to do with the gf and you could fish or just sightsee.

This and joining a club would be much cheaper than learning to fish and hunt.
