Not sure if this is the right place, but:
Went to the range today. This is the worst handgun I've ever used. Fired 50. 5 malfunctions. According to the operator, sights were also piss-poor.
Thoroughly disappointed.

That's why they are as cheap as they are.
The trigger pull is heavier than a double action revolver. They are made to be under the front seat guns or guns for your boat.
You'll have people who swear by them, but you'd never catch me shooting one. For the price, I'd get a Taurus over a S&W Sigma (And I'm a huge S&W fan)

Call me a gun snob, but the sigma is a colossal pos. Never seen one that would run.

I have never had a problem with my .40 cal, but I do have the older (original) model. I can't recall one jam.

I have a SW9VE that was given to me. The only problem I have ever had with it was when I tried to shoot some really old, really cheap 9mm ammo I had laying around.
Other than that it's like any of my other weapons... as long as I keep it cleaned/maintained I haven't had any issues.

My friend has this gun. We went out behind his house one day and unloaded many many magazines. The gun seemed like it had 1-3 FTE/FTFs for every 10 rounds.

Sigma's had alot of extractor problems. Alot of people have sent them back to S&W and the FTE problems are fixed. I have one and it malfunctions a good bit. Probably going to send it back soon and see what happens. It is strictly my truck gun.

Well, that sucks. Just bought my dad a Smith&Wesson.

I wouldn't take too much stock in the OB's opinion.

I have one and it's not perfect but you pay for what you get. I wouldn't call it a pos though.
